Me and my husband are both in our 70's my husbands health is bad and due to diabetes he has lost his eyesight, so we both decided to move to alabama where we have relatives. with my husband not being able to help me i had to look up on the computer how to get a home ready to sell, so i packed up stuff emptied rooms as much as i could and finally i was ready to go to the next step find me a realtor. I got lots of mail, looked up on the computer i just did not know who to pick, my daughter in law told me to drive around the neighborhood and see houses for sale and write down the phone numbers, well that did not help, then when i came home i got a letter in my mail box from don mitchell and i knew right away this was the man i needed to help me sell my home, that good feeling was there. I called him right away we set up a meeting and as soon as i met don i knew this was the man we needed to help us sell our home. i told him about my husbands eyesight and how hard it is for him to sign papers so don got us a power of attorney so i could sign for him so much easier on my husband, then he told us about all the ways he could go about getting our home sold. I told him How much i wanted for the home. Then we got into all the problems our home had and it was many, electrical problems, buckle hard wood floors, walls needed paint, nail holes i mean our house was not in great shape. He told me the truth it may be hard to get my asking price but he would do everything he could to get us close or there. Then he let some of the buyers he knew know our home was for sale, some did drive pasts and we did get an offer lower then i wanted, but do not dispair Don said, next we will let buyers come over to do a walk through, well we had pretty many people show up and had some offers and one buyer was pretty close to what we wanted, don told me that he was going to get back to the buyers and let them know my asking price and get back to me, well after a couple days don called me 10:30 in the morning and told me he has a surprise for me a big one even better then santa claus the easter bunny and even the tooth fairy, but he could not get over until the afternoon to tell me, what a tease, but it was worth it, that afternoon he told me he got my asking price, we accepted and i don't even think it was two weeks since we first got together with don that he sold my home. so with power of attorney and his help all the way he explained all the papers we were signing and made it as easy as possible we now sold our home . But i was not done. I told don i found a home on line in alabama that i liked so he got in touch with the realtor in alabama and instead of selling he was now helping me to buy a home. We had many 3 way conversations with don me and megan Bellew the realtor from alabama, I am not computer savy so don came over with his computer and with megan back in alabama on dons computer she gave us a video walk through of the home. I told don and megan yes we were interested. Don negotiated a great deal with megan for the home. So he sold my home and helped my buy a home out of state on line. Don me and megan had many 3 way conversations, he came over and helped me understand all the paper work i was signing for that home plus got going another power of attorney so i could sign again for a my husband because not all states are the same for the power of attorney. Let me tell you don did everything to help me and my husband. So i sold my home and while the loan was getting approved Don helped me get a 30,000 loan from his company so me and my husband could start getting moving pods and movers to help us get a head start on moving seeing you have about 30 days to vacate once sold. We found Don Mitchell of Keller Williams through Zillow. He is a thorough professional and very knowledgeable. We were trying to find a house during the winter time. The inventory was low. Needless to say it was difficult. We were in the house hunt for almost 3 months. We put in at least 9 offers. On each occasion we saw Don establishing a great professional relationship with the seller’s agent. Don always gave us the correct comps on the property and worked closely with us to write the offers. Most of the times, as first time buyers, we had lot of reservations in putting up a competitive offer. Even though Don knew we were not putting up competitive offers, he was patient and spent hours writing the offer for us. Whenever we lost an offer, we saw the house getting sold for the exact price/conditions that Don suggested. He always strived hard to make a good rapport with the seller agent. Don used to create a buyers profile and submit to the seller’s agent by meeting in person. He submitted it online only if the seller’s agent was not available to meet in person. Don worked closely with our lender and would request our lender to call the seller’s agent to give them assurance on our financial background. After our offer was accepted, the whole process was easier than we thought. He arranged the property inspection, loan signing, final walk through etc. He always made us comfortable during the process.
